Comb Over to Celebrate Mister Jack's First Birthday

Here are the facts and nothing but the facts.

1) Mister Jack is turning one soon. Remember that smile from here?

2) The theme of his one year party is a "little man" party. The bowties, moustaches, and toupees will be plentiful. Can't wait to see how his crazy creative momma (the owner of the fabulous Whip It Good cookies) incorporates it all.

3) Mom and I collaborated for a "little man" themed shoot. I do love a good creative collaboration.

4) Jack was happy as long as he was holding onto a pinwheel. Kind of like a dog and a bone, we decided not to get in between this little man and his food.

Now, I'm off to a swim meet and then I PROMISE to blog the 67,985 other sessions I have been sitting on :-)!

Baked Goods

A beautiful mother/son session with two beautiful human beings.  The session was a surprise gift from Grandma.  Her sister and I collaborated for weeks to make the surprise session extra special.,and putting our two heads together, we came up with this party for two.  

And you probably remember this wee one teaching us all How to Yawn in this post here.  Now he shows us

And last we have a good old fashioned dance off... the only music being the rap I started spur of the moment to get these kids moving.  I've participated in a couple of dance offs myself ...although they typically involved a little Prince or Michael Jackson... and occasionally Poison. Yes, you read that right. Poison. A la "Unskinny Bop". Oh yeah.

I Know.

I know.

I KNOW.

I want to eat him too.

This baby is not only freaking adorable, but has the COOLEST name ever- Ezra. Don't you LOVE THAT NAME?!? I sure do.

HIs aunt bought his mom a session with me as an early mother's day present. Isn't that a cool gift?!?!  (hint hint, tell your hubby and your kids you DON'T want the Shake Weight, but you DO want a gift certificate from yours truly!).  

OK, now I have the giggles, the Shake Weight is so awesome... maybe you DO want one after all.

As for me, I am asking for a Shake Weight AND my hardwood floors to be refinished- the recent purple nail polish incident has reminded me just how badly they need it.

Do you like my new chair?   I saw a similar tie chair at a boutique in New Orleans and tried to buy it, but it wasn't for sale, so along with my friend Teresa , I made one!

A Celebration of LIfe

I really struggled with what to write for this post or if I even should post this session. You see- shortly after this session, this family experienced a very sudden and tragic loss of a member of their immediate family.  

I decided to post- as a tribute to the BEAUTY of their life and a celebration of their love and family.

Can y'all do me a favor?

This little girl is sick. Really sick. She wasn't sick two weeks ago, but now she is fighting for her life. Whatever it is you believe in- prayer, positive energy, karma, whatever- please send it her way. This family needs it.

And hug your babies a little tighter today. Make it a point to stop what you are doing, look them in the eye, hug them as tight as you can, and tell them what they mean to you.

So I am finally able to take a breather from my inaugural year and thought I would thank all my AMAZING clients with a chance to win BIG.

Below is one of my favorite images from each 2009 session. I tried to pick one picture from each family.  Some of these you may have seen before, some will be new to you.  Whichever picture gets the most votes wins BIG.

And what do I consider BIG?

A new 16x24 (or smaller) gallery wrapped canvas from a past OR future session, PLUS a $100 print credit good towards a 2010 session!

Those images are not eligible to win the canvas or print credit, BUT will have eternal bragging rights.  If one of those pictures ends up coming in first place, the goods will go to the picture with the next highest vote.  Contest ends midnight February 10th- 2 days before I go to Mardi Gras New Orleans (where I may likely return just a little bit brain damaged and unable to tally the votes for a while).  Winner announced Feb 11.
