Playing More Catch UP!!

I'm trying to catch up the blog with all of the awesomeness I have been lucky enough to experience lately.

So let me show you my amazing clients, in order from youngest to oldest :-)

5 days old. She was such a chunky monkey for only being five days old! I can't wait to see her again in a few more months when we do pictures again- I hope she holds on to that chunkiness!

10 days old and ready to party. He did not want to sleep for me... I think he wanted to show me what I can already tell are going to be beautiful eyes :-)

7 months old. I am SO incredibly jealous of her pouty lips! Angelina- watch out!

A high school senior. Who brought a huge bag of some of the most rockin' clothes I have seen in a long time.  I'm almost jealous of her wardrobe, but then I remind myself even if I had all these cool clothes, I wear running clothes. Every day. All day. It's hot, I know. It's probably better than the yoga pants/fake furry crocs I was sporting last winter.  Hopefully mom jeans are not in my near future. Don't judge- it could happen to you too!!

It was about 127 degrees outside when we did her shoot, but she's as cool as a cucumber!

And a couple soooooo in love with each other. Oh, and did I mention what hotties they both are? Um hello! Take a look at Mr. and Mrs. Your Hotness.

How to Yawn

First you give your standard yawn. A biiiiggggg yawn.

Then you smile even bigger.

I have had some serious luck getting newborns to smile lately! I love this shot- isn't it the cutest thing ever?!?!

This family won my contest earlier in the year, which was perfect- they were some of my first ever clients, so I was quite happy they walked away with the grand prize :-).

Isn't their newest addition gorgeous?

Her name should have been Smiley.

Because really- 10 day old babies just don't give you smiles like this. 

Not normally. 

She must be pretty dang special.

But then again, I wouldn't have been able to get her brother to stop smiling if I tried.  What expressions these two had!

And if I remember the story correctly- his great grandfather wore this hat every single day.

I lllloooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeee that they wanted it incorporated into their session. LOVE.

Baby Plan!

Babies never grow as much as they do in their first year of life. The type of growth a baby experiences in that first year is equivalent to me gaining 300 pounds, learning to understand Portugese, sprouting wings and taking flight (now there is a sight... a 420 lb Portugese speaking photographer flying through the air...)

One of my biggest regrets in life (and I try not to regret ANYTHING... it is such a pointless emotion, don't you agree?) is not having an organized photo album of each of my kids that showed that first incredible year. Sure, I took thousands of pictures. And they now happily reside on a pretty silver external hard drive.  

I finally got my act together and started creating awesome birthday signature albums for each of my kids.  And one day - in between soccer games, birthday parties, and staying up all night with whoever has contracted the virus of the week- I will get around to printing and organizing baby books.

So what's my point? I am going to, very soon, introduce a very cool baby plan for that first amazing year.  The details are being tweaked (i.e:  I need to create pretty brochure that sums it all up), but give me a holler (tracy@doe-ee-bird.com)  if you just can't wait and want to hear more :-).

Spring is in the Air!

FINALLY- I am seeing some green here and there, and the littlest wildflowers are beginning to pop up. Whoo hoo!!

The little girl mentioned in the post below- well- if you prayed for her, those prayers have been answered. She is on the road to recovery. Double whoo hoo!

Big, BIG Contest!

So I am finally able to take a breather from my inaugural year and thought I would thank all my AMAZING clients with a chance to win BIG.

Below is one of my favorite images from each 2009 session. I tried to pick one picture from each family.  Some of these you may have seen before, some will be new to you.  Whichever picture gets the most votes wins BIG.

And what do I consider BIG?

A new 16x24 (or smaller) gallery wrapped canvas from a past OR future session, PLUS a $100 print credit good towards a 2010 session!

One more thing... you'll notice some pictures of my own kiddos (because its my blog and I just can't resist putting my awesome kids all over it) or some kiddos I shot for free (for various reasons). Those images are not eligible to win the canvas or print credit, BUT will have eternal bragging rights.  If one of those pictures ends up coming in first place, the goods will go to the picture with the next highest vote.  Contest ends midnight February 10th- 2 days before I go to Mardi Gras New Orleans (where I may likely return just a little bit brain damaged and unable to tally the votes for a while).  Winner announced Feb 11.
